King fish: 800 gm, Chopped shallots: 100 gm green chillies, ginger and garlic crushed, kokum: 3 to 4(8 gm approx) pods, curry leaves, onion:1(small),Kashmiri Chilly powder: 1tbsp, Salt as per taste, haldi powder, coriander powder: 1 spoon
Take the kadhai and before putting it in the gas add chopped shallots, Chopped onions, curry leaves, sliced tomatoes, green chillies, Kokum, and the powdered spices, salt and give it a goodix with hand untill the water inside the onion is released. Add one or two teaspoons of normal water in between mixing with hand, if required. On the top of this mix, layer with fish pieces and add water to cover the layer of fish. Add salt to taste. Put the vessel on gas. Turn on the gas and cook the whole mix until the fish pieces are completely cooked. Your fish curry is ready to eat NB: The kokum, curry leaves and shallot mix would act lile oil to nullify the hit of all the raw spice powders. PS: At this stage, if you would like you can give oil tadka using coconut oil, Mustard seeds, red chillies and currey leaves(OPTIONAL)
